about

Reflections is an exploration of dance floor narratives, intending to induce a trance-like state of mind through a very physical sound experience. Drums, voices and machines come together to create a ritualistic, almost visual atmosphere.

The first 2 songs, Chemare (Calling) and Blestem (Curse) are built as explorations of voice and lyrics, both sampled from the same old Romanian folklore track Cine iubește și lasă (Who loves and leaves), performed by Maria Tănase, a very renowned singer at the beginning of the 20th century, with a unique and powerful voice signature. The song is a mystical summoning of the higher forces to cast a curse on the one who betrays love and breaks the sacred bond of word. It is an unleash of nature, of the physical exterior, as a reflection of internal torment. While the first track is an echo of the story, where the voice is at times an apparition that breaks the rhythm and absorbs you in a hypnotic uplift, the second is a full power unleash of sounds which accompany the story as it unfolds itself.

Gare du Nord is exploring a different kind of narrative, without words but with sounds crafted to depict a scene in which you write your own plot. It builds up slow and once it gets running it carries on a lot of weight. Just like an old steamer. And yes, it's with trains.

Title track Reflections is a relentless banger which immediately takes over the room and floods it with sound. It's an intense ride under the spell of hypnotizing drums, untamable bass and tension artifacts. It's an assault on the castle, a Mad Max convoy battle, a ritualistic transformation.
